The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
