The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
