The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
