The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
