The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
