The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He hath created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
