The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
