The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
