The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Taught the Quran. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
