The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
