The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
