The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
