The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
