The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
