The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
