The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
