The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
