The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
