The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
