The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
