The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
