The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
