The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
