The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
