The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
