The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
