The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
