The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
