The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
