Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
