The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
