The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
