The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
