The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
