The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created the human being 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
