The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
