The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
