The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
