The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
