The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
