The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
