The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
