The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
