The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
