The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
