The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
