The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
