The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
