The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
