The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
